Abbie teaches flute at The Purcell School and is also a teaching deputy at Trinity Laban, Junior Academy, Junior Guildhall and Junior Trinity. An innovative and enthusiastic teacher, she has been a guest artist on numerous flute days and courses, working with thousands of flute players. Her creative (and unorthodox!) teaching style has earned her an international reputation, with several of her workshops being scheduled in flute festivals and events across the UK, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Switzerland, Iceland, Poland, Holland, Gran Canaria, Hong Kong, Spain, Kenya, America and Australia. She has led masterclasses, flute choirs and workshops for flute players of all ages and standards, as well as working as an ensemble coach, audition panellist and competition adjudicator.

Abbie has been a lead tutor for Flute School London courses for over ten years and is a keen supporter of children’s flute charity Flutewise - working for for Liz Goodwin (Founder) since 2005, assisting on courses and events throughout the UK, Slovenia and Croatia. She has been Director of the Junior Day at the Australian Flute Festival since 2015, designing and running a varied programme of activities for young people of all standards, and has also led numerous Flute Days for numerous schools and music services across the UK. She has also given classes at University of Stavanger (Norway), Trinity Laban (London), Hong Kong Flute Centre, Reykyavik Music School (Iceland), Nairobi Music School and Interlochen Center for the Arts (Michigan), and been a guest tutor at courses including Jersey Academy of Music Summer School, National Youth Concert Band, Chichester Flute Choir, NB Music Courses, Dorking Flutes, Benslow Music, Suzuki Flute School, and Wind Chamber Music Weekends.

Abbie also runs eFlute Academy (with Janna Hüneke), an online teaching programme for adults, as well as popular YouTube channel 2 Flute Loops (with Clare Jefferis), aimed at young players.
